Market Trends
This fifth edition of Cook County Market Trends, focuses on broad-based economic statistics for the Chicago-Cook County region. All data reported in Cook County Market Trends are preliminary and are subject to revision in subsequent years.

Please note that the employment and business establishment data are based on information collected under the Illinois Unemployment Insurance Act.

Additionally, please note that data in the Wage Trends section are collected by Illinois Department of Employment security (IDES). The Cook County Office of Economic Development recommends that IDES consider alternative occupational wage survey methods. Current survey results do not seem to accurately reflect real wages in certain occupations.
